Hospital officials have confirmed a data breach at Sonoma Valley Hospital in California. In clear violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the hospital has confirmed the dissemination of at least 67,000 patients’ names, procedures, surgeons, date of services, hospital charges and the names of their insurance companies.
