ATM Operators Seek Cert. In Visa, Mastercard Antitrust Suit

MoginRubin partner Jonathan Rubin was recently quoted in Law360 as saying, “The ATM restraints imposed by Visa and Mastercard amount to price-fixing and are unambiguously anticompetitive. Like all price-fixing, they reduce interbrand competition, restrain output, maintain high network processing fees to ATM operators, and cost consumers more in the long run. Defendants suppress competition by only permitting access to their ATM networks to independent ATM operators who agree to abide by these restraints.”
