Jonathan Rubin, an antitrust attorney with MoginRubin LLP, discussed President Trump’s possible involvement in the proposed merger between AT&T and Time Warner with The Hill this week.
With regards to the question of whether or not Trump’s involvement could influence the Judge, Rubin said, “As a matter of public relations, as a nonlegal matter, that sort of thing might have some usefulness for AT&T…As a strategy, as a specific defense in the courtroom, I think it would be futile.”
